How does the Hackathon work?
The Hackathon will take place across four key phases: Idea Submission (Online): Participants submit innovative ideas based on a chosen theme. Submissions are evaluated for creativity, relevance, and potential for development. Shortlisted teams advance to the Prototype Phase, so we encourage you to start developing your prototype as well during this phase. Prototype Building (Online): Teams submit a functional prototype of the idea. Participants will need to create a tangible proof of concept of their idea, showcasing core features and functionality. Shortlisted teams move on to the Demo Day. Demo Days (Online): Teams present live demos to a panel of expert judges, receiving real-time feedback. Winning teams are selected based on innovation, practicality, scalability, and alignment with Hackathon objectives. Grand Finale (In-Person): The top 3 teams are invited to the Amazon Smbhav 2024 Summit in New Delhi on 10 December, for the winner announcement among thousands of business owners, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and global leaders.

After the Hackathon
What happens next? Winning teams may have the opportunity to collaborate with Amazon to further develop their solutions, along with potential future mentorship opportunities.
Will participants get access to Amazon's Seller Central account and Selling Partner (SP) API (including Product Listing, Pricing, and Catalog APIs) for the hackathon, or should we implement alternative solutions using databases and custom integrations? For this hackathon, don't worry about direct Amazon API access. Instead, focus on building your own data model that transforms social media content into structured product listings. You will need to create:
A simple database that stores processed social media content and converted listing information
Basic API endpoints that simulate how your listing would appear on Amazon
A way to demonstrate how your AI extracts product details from social posts and converts them into professional listings. Use sample social media posts and Amazon listing templates we have provided. What matters is showing how your AI can understand social content and transform it into professional e-commerce listings, not the specific Amazon integration. Think of it as building the smart content converter first - we can always connect it to real marketplace platforms later
